Stronger Together 攜手前進 | 遇強越強
After three pandemic years, Wah Mei School’s 49th Anniversary Spring Gala, held on Thursday, May 18, at Harborview Restaurant & Bar, was a huge success! Our theme this year is Stronger Together 攜手前進 | 遇強越強, and we would like to express our sincerest gratitude and thanks for the community’s energy and support of this year’s Spring Gala.
Not only was it a fantastic evening of reconnecting in person and building community, celebrating the vital work of Wah Mei with friends, old and new, we also surpassed our fundraising goal for the night! Proceeds raised will help us deepen our mission of bilingual multicultural education and support equitable education opportunities for more than 500 diverse children and youth across our acclaimed programs: Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Childcare and Development at three sites throughout San Francisco, school-aged Before & Afterschool Programs, Summer Camp, and Weekend Chinese Language Program.
Our event could not have happened without the gracious participation of our special guest emcee, reigning Miss San Francisco Chinatown, Megan Lo, the friends and businesses who so kindly donated items for our Live and Silent Auctions, and for every sponsor, donor, Gala attendee and raffle ticket purchaser whose efforts helped to make the evening such a great success! We were delighted by the lively crowd that turned out to support our work and mission!
We were proud to recognize distinguished honorees:
Norman Yee, past President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, for his leadership, contributions, and advocacy work on behalf of children and families in San Francisco.
Rebuilding Together San Francisco and The New Hospital at Parnassus Heights Project Team, our Community Partner of the Year for their support and contributions to positively impacting the daily lives of children, youth, and families.
